Germany loses 6.6 billion euros annually due to extreme weather caused by climate change = private investigation

Germany has suffered an average of at least 6.6 billion euros ($ 6.69 billion) annually over the last two decades due to extreme weather events such as climate change heat, droughts, and floods. A survey report released on the 18th of July by Prognos, an economic researcher, showed these estimates.

The author of the report said that the estimated damages since 2000 are actually due to the existence of individual disasters that have not yet been investigated and unquantifiable issues such as health hazards and impacts on biodiversity. Said there was a greater risk.

The Minister of Environment, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection, Remke, pointed out that the damages presented in this report have warning implications. "We have to and will invest more in terms of environmental protection and climate change adaptation to better protect our people," he stressed.
