Iranian regime imprisons Panahi the top award gainer at the Berlin Film celebration


On the 19th, the Iranian judiciary sentenced Jafar Panahi, who has won the highest award "Golden Bear Award" at the Berlin International Film Festival, to a six-year prison sentence in 2010. Announced that he will be imprisoned for his clothes.


Panahi was detained on the 11th when he visited the Tehran Prosecutor's Office to investigate the case of two Iranian film directors arrested this month on security charges.


In 2010, an Iranian court sentenced Mr. Panahi to six years imprisonment for "propaganda against the regime," and banned filmmaking and overseas travel for 20 years.


Mr. Panahi won the Caméra d'Or (Rookie Director Award) at the Cannes Film Festival for "The White Balloon" (1995). In 2015, he won numerous international film awards, including the Golden Bear Award for "Taxi".
