Monkeypox infected person confirmed for the first time in Japan Hospitalized in Tokyo = Governor Koike

 

Governor Yuriko Koike of Tokyo announced on the night of the 25th of July that the first monkeypox-infected person in Japan was confirmed in Tokyo. He is said to be a man in his thirties who returned from Europe and is currently hospitalized at a medical institution in Tokyo.


Monkeypox is spreading all over the world, as the World Health Organization (WHO) declared on the 23rd that it corresponds to a public health emergency.


To date, more than 16,000 infected people have been confirmed in more than 75 countries this year, and five have died in Africa
