A major Korean car maker, Hyundai Motor's union executive, voted for a tentative wage increase agreed with the company last week, and received a 61.9% vote in favor. Announced that it was approved. There was a possibility of a strike since 2018, but labor-management negotiations have been formally concluded.


Hyundai confirmed that it was also approved.


The draft agreement included an annual salary increase of about 9% per employee. At the request of the union, the company also announced plans to build a factory dedicated to electric vehicles (EV) in Japan.
